David grew up in rural Tennessee amidst the greenery of the Cumberland Plateau. He joined the U.S. Army as an infantryman the day after high school graduation, and rose to the rank of Captain before leaving the Armed Forces a decade later. After exiting the service, David served as a Rhode Island State Trooper for 3 years before pursuing an education in theology and pastoral counseling, studying at Boston College School of Theology and currently finishing his Master’s degree at Loyola University Maryland. He is a combat veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, an Eagle Scout in the B.S.A., and an AmeriCorps VISTA alumnus. In his spare time, David enjoys exercising, throwing pottery, meditation, learning the piano, and reading. He has a spiritual background in contemplative Christian practices, Zen Buddhism, and Sufi Islam.
Please join us in giving David a warm welcome this fall!
