Upcoming books are:

  • September 1 How the Word Is Passed by Clint Smith. 352 pages. (2022). This book underscores how slavery has shaped America’s collective history and its reality today. Nine locations serve as gateways to stories that are hidden in plain sight. Additionally, it explores how the world remembers slavery but also how it often forgets about this part of our history.
  • October 6 Search by Michelle Huneven. 400 pages. (2022). Written in memoir form, this book follows a food writer’s efforts in a search committee to help her U.U. church find a new senior minister. 

We plan to have members rotate as discussion leader each month. Please let Helen Pechacek know if you would like to volunteer.
