With the current administration undermining Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s dream, the National Action Network lead by the Rev Al Sharpton, called on religious leader to reaffirm their commitment to voting rights, healthcare, criminal justice reform and economic justice and to stand up and speak out on these inequities. More than 3,000 religious leaders answered the call including UU minsters from all over the country on the 54th anniversary of King’s infamous “I have a Dream” speech and marched from the Martin Luther King Jr memorial to the Department of Justice on August 28th.
