BLOG: VOICES FROM CEDAR LANE
The holiday season embodies what we love most about Cedar Lane. Opportunities for celebration, connection, and contemplation. Together, we are building a beloved community.
It is also a time to take stock of our community’s accomplishments. And, you know what? We did some pretty incredible things. We…
- Hosted more than a half-dozen Spirit Experiences, bringing the religious traditions, music, dancing, and food of people across the world to Cedar Lane.
- Grew our Lifespan Religious Education program. We added a class for 3-year-olds, boosted our volunteer base, expanded our Adult Programs, and included more fun, family-friendly events.
- Pastoral Visitors and Ministers provided more than 690 caring conversations to Cedar Lane members in times of need.
That list leaves us in awe of what we – 750 committed Cedar Lane members – can accomplish in a few short months.
As you have likely heard by now, Cedar Lane is in a time of unusual financial need. We fell short of our pledge goal by about $70,000.
To address the gap, we have decided on a path to help alleviate the impact of the shortfall, give ourselves time to understand the roots of the shortfall, and craft a response that considers the needs of our community.
You are a critical step on that path.
In order to meet our 2018 – 2019 need, we must raise $35,000 from our end of the year appeal. Yes, we are asking you to give more than you have before.
Please consider making a year-end gift to support the many ministries of Cedar Lane, such as our immigrant justice and environmental justice ministries, our lifespan religious education ministry, and our incredible music and worship ministries.
Your donation can be made by check, by credit card online at www.cedarlane.org, or by electronic transfer. Should you want assistance, please contact Olivia James, Accounting Manager (firstname.lastname@example.org / 301-493-8300 ext. 310).
Thank you for all that you do to make Cedar Lane a place that helps love work in the world.
In faith and gratitude,
Rev. Abhi Janamanchi, Senior Minister & Gail Riley, President, Board of Trustees
