Cedar Lane Youth at September 2016's Ice Cream Social
Welcome to Cedar Lane's Senior High Youth Group, a welcoming youth group made up of students enrolled in Religious Education here at Cedar Lane Unitarian Universalist Church. This is promising to be an excellent year and we would like to take this opportunity to invite you to join us. The Senior High Youth Group serves grades 9-12 and meets for events from September through June.
October 7-8: Middle/High School Youth Group Tockwogh Retreat
Our Youth Group events are off to an awesome start and we hope that your youth will be able to join us for an awesome night away for everything from water sports, high ropes courses and midnight hikes to hanging out with friends by the campfire. You can register online at http://bit.ly/TockwoghRetreat2017.
October 28: Middle/High School Youth Group Old Rag Hike
The Old Rag Mountain hike in the Shenandoah National Park is one of the most popular hikes in the mid-Atlantic region. With many spectacular panoramic views, and one of the most challenging rock scrambles in the park, this circuit hike is a favorite of many hikers. It rates 4/5 for difficulty, so you should be in good aerobic shape and be capable of walking/hiking for up to 6 hours (with plenty of breaks). Look for registration opportunities coming soon!
The objectives of Senior High Youth Group are simple. Activities are intended to allow 9th through 12th grade students to continue to get to know each other, advance their socializing skills, learn Unitarian Universalist-based ethical lessons of sharing and caring for each other, perform public service for our community and church, and have fun in doing all this. It can also be a special place where youth are accepted and loved for who they are.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
Before each event, an announcement will be mailed or emailed to the student with information about the activity. If you have any questions, please contact Religious Education Administrator, Ashley Del Sole, email@example.com.
We welcome new members at any time.
