An Update from the Board of Trustees

October 25, 2018

The Combined Capital and Annual Fund Campaign Steering Committee reported at the October 18th Board of Trustees meeting that despite generous pledging, the annual fund has come up short of the projected goal. As a result, the Financial Policy Committee (FPC) drilled down through years of data yielding a good understanding and realistic foundation of our finances as we move ahead. The Financial Policy Committee will discuss this funding gap at its November 1st meeting.

We discussed the Multicultural Ministry Review in anticipation of the October 19-20 meetings. Thanks to all who were able to join us for part or all of what we hope is just the beginning of rich conversations around what it means to engage in multicultural ministry.

Look for Up Close & Personal with the Board, held the 4th Sunday of each month between services in the Library, to begin Oct. 28. Stop by and speak with Board members and the newly formed Right Relations Education Team about the work done by the Covenant of Right Relations Task Force and how we can become a community in right relations. Hope to see you there!

The next Board meeting is Tuesday, November 13 and, as always, is open to the public. In the meantime you can communicate with Board members who wear blue name tags at church or you can send an email to boardpresident@cedarlane.org.
