SUMMARY:Ecosystems Study Group
DESCRIPTION:What are the root causes of climate change\, biodiversity loss\, ocean acidification\, and other symptoms of our “overshoot” of Earth’s carrying capacity? What are the best ways to address our predicament? What is our moral and ethical response? ESG was founded in 2017 to explore these questions and more using a “systems thinking” approach. Our goal is to educate ourselves\, activist groups\, and the general public. We have a very active Google Group that allows us to share a wide variety of information\, and we meet twice per month to discuss what we’ve learned. We also host a number of speakers at events which we open to the wider public. Past speakers include Nate Hagens\, Charlie Hall\, Richard Heinberg\, Alice Friedemann\, Chris Clugston\, Jack Alpert\, John Seager\, Terry Spahr\, and Gaya Herrington.
