Food and Diaper Drop-off
You are invited to bring food and diapers and place them in the collection bin found in the chapel hallway. Volunteers collect these items on Sunday mornings and take them to our partner, Mid-County United Ministries (MUM), to be distributed in the community. Your donations are greatly appreciated! Current Urgent Needs Three children need diapers […]
JourneyWomen
We gather in person and online on the 1st and 3rd Sundays at 9:00 am Eastern. You are welcome to join us. Please contact us for zoom link info. We experience silence and share what is important in our lives through readings from varied sources.
Quiet Callings
Gather with us on Sunday mornings at 9:30 in the Chalice House for gentle music, meditation, and quiet reflection. This is a welcoming space for renewal, sharing what’s on our hearts, and finding connection, healing, and peace.
The Fierce Urgency of Love
Dr. King called us to act with urgency out of love. On MLK Sunday, we reflect on how that love shapes our life together and calls us toward justice and love.
With Rev. Abhi Janamanchi, Rev. Dayna Edwards, and the Cedar Lane Choir and Band.
Federal Worker Support Group
Drop in for a confidential, in-person support circle for federal employees, contractors, and former feds/contractors. We’ll share, listen, and support one another through the shutdown’s impacts.
The Beloved Community: A Shared Calling
Join us with special guest, Senator Chris Van Hollen, for this interfaith service bringing together faith leaders and artists from many traditions - Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, Unitarian Universalist, and Zoroastrian - to honor Dr. King’s vision of the Beloved Community. Through music, dance, prayer, reflection, and Dr. King’s own words, we gather across traditions to affirm justice, dignity, and peace.
High-Schoolers Hang Out
Join fellow teens on Sunday Evenings in room 2 for this weekly get-together — Enjoy food, music (choir & instrumental breakout groups), games, crafts, & space to chill with friends.

MLK Day of Service (Ages 12–17)
Teens are invited to help assemble care bags for neighbors in our community facing food insecurity. We are partnering with Food Justice DMV, who serves a largely immigrant population in Maryland, DC, and Virginia. The morning is active, collaborative, and hands-on—working side by side to create something that will be shared directly with people who need it.
Meditation
This online meditation class focuses on finding peace of mind and stress reduction through the teachings of the Buddha on mindfulness and compassion. All levels are welcome to our drop in class.

Newcomers Soul Circle
Soul Circles meet once per month and are a great way to get connected and enjoy spiritual exploration with a small group. This group is open to anyone who started attending in the past two years. You can drop in. No advanced registration is required.

There's always a place for you in the choir. Young, old, new, experienced, and lesser experienced all welcome! Individual training can be provided. Come share the joy of singing with your fellow Cedar Lane members and friends to provide regular music for worship services and other events throughout the church year.
