These teams help to make Cedar Lane’s Sunday programs and services run smoothly.
Cedar Lane’s visual arts program offers a space for artists of all ages and backgrounds to share their gifts. Through rotating exhibits and collaborative projects, we explore how art can express spirit, identity, and our shared commitment to justice.
The Hospitality Team welcomes people to worship service on Sunday mornings as greeters and serves as ushers during service. Volunteers make, set up, and put away items from coffee hour. We always need new volunteers on this team, many serve only 1-2 hours per month.
The music ministry team is responsible for bringing creative, talented musical artists to Cedar Lane to enhance worship services, concerts, and other events. Learn more about music and arts programs at Cedar Lane.
The Handbell Choir welcomes ringers to join in creating beautiful, meditative music for worship. The group rehearses weekly and typically performs once a month during services.
The Flower Team provides decorative beauty and the spirituality of nature for Sunday services, via floral arrangements. We take turns creating these each week and help each other out, as needed. We meet monthly via Zoom, and a few Saturdays a year we gather in the library for a lunch potluck and arrangement schedule sign-up. (The food is delicious.) We always welcome new members. Children ages 5 and up are invited to make music, have fun, and grow together in the children’s choir. They sing in worship several times a year and learn songs that foster creativity, confidence, and collaboration. No experience needed—just enthusiasm and curiosity.
The AV Team facilitates the congregation’s “nurture community” mission by providing audio and video support. Simply put, we ensure that whenever participants gather, they can hear and see every event, for both able-bodied members and members with hearing or mobility disabilities. In addition to supporting Sunday services, we also enhance scores of additional events, including memorial services, weddings, concerts, films, symposiums, lectures, meetings, etc.
The choir sings in worship two to three times each month and covers a wide range of musical styles, from classical and folk to global and contemporary. No audition needed, and you don’t have to read music.
