The Governance Committee, a standing committee of the board of trustees, advises and assists the board on governance matters in accordance with its charter and in response to requests from the board, including helping the board to understand and focus on its role under governance by policy.
Engagement Opportunities
Members of the committee should provide a balance of knowledge and experience of governance by policy.
Ideally members would have some of the following:
Familiar with the history and specific governance policies that define how Cedar Lane operates, including the reasoning behind why we are structured as we are.
Affirm and promote the vision, mission, priorities, and goals of Cedar Lane.
All committee members must be members in good standing or pledging friends of Cedar Lane.
The Committee generally seeks new members to begin in the Fall. If you might be interested in becoming a committee member, assisting with specific projects, or if you have questions, contact us.
