We’re delighted to share that the Rev. Louise Green will be joining the Cedar Lane staff team as our part-time minister for pastoral care beginning August 17. Many of you will remember Louise’s thoughtful, grounding presence as a guest preacher during Abhi’s sabbatical.
In this new role, she will serve as the primary pastoral presence in the congregation offering care and support to individuals and families in times of crisis, transition, and celebration. She will coordinate and support our lay caring team, strengthen systems of congregational care, serve as the ministerial point of contact for memorial services, and collaborate with Rev. Abhi and Rev. Dayna on weddings, child dedications, and other rites of passage. She’ll also lead worship a few times a year and serve as liturgist monthly.
This move from a full-time to a part-time pastoral care position reflects our current staffing and budget realities, and we are grateful to have someone with Louise’s deep experience and heart stepping into this work. A longtime UU community minister, spiritual director, and community organizer, Louise has served at All Souls DC, River Road, and most recently as summer minister at UUC Arlington. She lives in DC with her spouse Regina and a house full of animal companions.
We’re so glad to welcome her to the Cedar Lane team and know she’ll be a blessing to our shared ministry.
