The Nominating and Leadership Development Committee (NLDC) is a committee of the congregation. We are charged with identifying people to fill important leadership roles at Cedar Lane.
Primary Responsibilities:
The NLDC is responsible for nominating candidates for the board of trustees and the NLDC. These candidates for the board and for the NLDC are elected by the congregation at the Annual Meeting, and each shall serve a three-year term.
Number of candidates and service terms:
There are four candidates for the board put forward each June, an assistant treasurer and an assistant secretary, plus two at-large members. The two assistant positions move up to the positions of treasurer and secretary during their second year of service.
There are three candidates for the NLDC put forward each June.
Candidate requirements:
All trustees shall be voting members of the congregation who have been members for at least one year and have served on at least one committee or ministry team for at least six months.
Members of the NLDC must be members in good standing of the congregation.
We provide support and training to leaders and, importantly, to emerging leaders.
