Worship Associates support the ministers in providing Sunday worship services.
We assist with setting up the worship space, leading the congregation in the Chalice Lighting words, and sharing weekly joys and sorrows. In addition, there are opportunities to share personal reflections and work as a team to provide a worship associate led service.
Worship associates commit to attending a retreat at the end of the summer and team meetings with the senior minister every four to six weeks over the course of the year. Typically, a worship associate serves for three consecutive years, but exceptions do occur. On average a worship associate serves on Sunday mornings once every two months.
Engagement Opportunities
New adult and youth worship associates begin service in September each year. The team seeks diversity of age, gender, gender identity, spiritual background, and cultural background to reflect the beloved community we seek to build. This is an enriching opportunity for youth, as well as adults.
